Block House | Yountville

292 Acres | Yount Mill Rd. / Yountville Crossroad

Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Cinsault, Flora, Grenache, Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Syrah

The name of this historic vineyard pays homage to the Kentucky-style Block House that was constructed by George Yount in 1836 and once stood on this site. This property is characterized by deep alluvial soils, along with the cooling influence of San Pablo Bay. In addition, there are regions of this large acreage that have differing microclimates, allowing for a diverse collection of planted varieties and targeted wine styles. Fruit from this vineyard is used for sparkling, still white, and dry red programs.

Ghost Block | Yountville

17 Acres | Yount Mill Rd., bordering George C. Yount Pioneer Cemetery

Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon

Soil Type: Boomer-Forward-Felta, Bale Clay Loam, Coombs Gravelly Loam

Our most unique and sought after site. This vineyard rests against a gentle slope of Yountville Hill, a mountaintop that once stood tall above the Stags Leap District in the Vaca Mountains. Approximately eight million years ago, a seismic event caused a section of the Vacas to tumble, shifting a peak to the west. This repositioned peak, now known as Yountville Hill, lies on its side, unveiling distinctive vertical exposure of tertiary volcanic formations. Positioned facing East, it basks in the mid-morning and afternoon sunlight, while experiencing cooling effects in the evening and early morning, influenced by the marine air from San Pablo Bay.

Lincoln Creek | Oakville

64.5 Acres | Hwy 29 / Yount Mill Rd.

Varieties: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Zinfandel

Soil Type: Bale Clay Loam, Clear Lake Clay, Cole Silt Loam, Yolo Loam

Named after a small creek that travels through the property. This ranch is renowned for having one of the last plantings of Zinfandel in Oakville, as well as producing premium Cabernet Sauvignon. This is one of our warmest sites during the afternoon. However, the cooling breezes from the bay allow for excellent acidity retention. The soils consist of deep, gravelly, alluvial loams and are located on gentle slopes ranging from 0 to 2%.

Mill Race | Yountville

35.5 Acres | Cook Rd.

Varieties: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot

Soil Type: Pleasanton Loam

Located along the Napa River's eastern bank in Yountville, our warmest site is strategically positioned at the boundary of the Oakville appellation. Characterized by gentle slopes (0-2%) and uniform soil, this vineyard is embraced by the protective Yountville Hills to the west. During the day, it basks in the warmth of the Valley floor, while cool, invigorating nights by the Napa River. Additionally, this historical property was once home to George Yount's original grist/flour mill, powered by the diverted stretch of the river known as a 'race.' Uncover the exceptional wine potential that lies within this distinct terroir.

MorgaenLee | Yountville

30 Acres | Yountville Crossroad

Varieties: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc

Soil Type: Cole Silt Loam, Yolo Loam

Situated just beyond the outskirts of Yountville, MorgaenLee flourishes in the distinctive climate characterized by cool, crisp mornings and warm, sunny afternoons. The vineyard is strategically planted north to south, ensuring the fruit receives optimal sun exposure. The exceptional performance of Sauvignon Blanc on this site led us to allocate 90% of the acreage to this particular variety. This location experiences the most moderate temperatures among all our properties and exhibits resilience to temperature extremes. Additionally, two blocks within this site boast our oldest plantings, initially planted in 1978 and trained to a California sprawl, while our more recent plantings are vertically trained. Named after 5th-generation Morgaen Hoxsey-Pickett, this vineyard stands as a testament to the family's enduring commitment to quality winemaking.

Pelissa | Oakville

56.5 Acres | Hwy 29 and Oakville Crossroad

Varieties: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Montepulciano, Petit Verdot, Zinfandel

Soil Type: Bale Clay Loam, Bale Loam

In tribute to Andrew and Babe Pelissa, the vineyard is positioned directly behind our family winery, Napa Wine Company. Hosting mature, dry-farmed Cabernet Sauvignon vines, originally planted in the old BV - 7 clone using a California sprawl training system, this vineyard reflects a rich viticultural tradition. Recent Cabernet Sauvignon blocks employ vertical training and feature our exclusive "Ghost Block" Clone. Notably, 20% of this acreage is dedicated to dry-farmed Zinfandel planted in 1995—a rare choice within the Oakville appellation. This feature emphasizes our family's pioneering spirit as the exclusive cultivators of Zinfandel in the entire Oakville region, a testament to our commitment to viticultural diversity.

Rock Cairn | Oakville

34 Acres | Hwy 29, Western base of Yountville Hill

Varieties: Albariño, Cabernet Sauvignon

Soil Type: Bale Clay Loam

Situated on the western base of the Yountville hill, at the southern edge of Oakville. Rock Cairn derives its name from ancient rock piles constructed by indigenous people as offerings for safe passage throughout the hills. The vineyard, featuring a gradual 2-5% slope, boasts deep, gravelly loam and a western exposure, creating an ideal environment for Cabernet Sauvignon vines that yield intensely concentrated fruit in the late season. With multiple blocks planted between 1984 and 2023, this vineyard presents a diverse range of flavor profiles.
